> ReCollections This complete reference from the Heritage Collections Council provides a comprehensive guide to the preventative care of cultural items. The online version is fully searchable and is available free of charge on AMOL.

> Be prepared Be prepared provides complete guidelines for small cultural institutions for writing a disaster preparedness plan.

> Moved Buildings for Museums was funded by the Australian Heritage Commission, and produced by the Museums and Galleries Foundation of NSW with the assistance of an Expert Heritage Advisory Group. The guide looks at the many issues involved in the decision to move a historic building.

> Guidelines for Environmental Control in Cultural Institutions has been developed by the Heritage Collections Council. The guide will assist you to develop appropriate environmental strategies to optimise the preservation of cultural objects while in storage and on display.

> Protecting Local Heritage Places is step-by-step guide to help communities conserve their local heritage places. It contains the best of what is currently known about looking after Australia’s special heritage places.

> Australian Institute for the Conservation of Cultural Material (AICCM).The AICCM maintains a register of conservators in private practice and facilitates special interest groups for conservation.

  • The AICCM's Caring for your Treasures page includes some articles and links to other conservation organisations, as well as fact-sheets detailing conservation strategies for various media include artworks on paper; archival records; textiles; wooden artefacts; outdoor sculptures and monuments; and packing and handling.
